Frosted Chocolate Sugar Cookies

The end of the school year is here! I like to thank people with cookies rather than cards (this should totally be a thing) so I made my daughters' teachers cookies as a thank you for a great year. I had an apple cookie cutter (ya know, apple for teacher) that I thought was cute. I knew I wanted to frost them so that could be red - my daughter's favorite color - and I also wanted something I could roll out. There would be some leftover too so I wanted something my girls would eat. It's ...

Gluten-free Cheesecake w/ Almond Crust

Whenever I visit my parents I try to make my mother something that is gluten-free. Usually we are up there for a holiday or a party – so it tends to be some kind of dessert. She has celiac so she can't eat anything with gluten in it without being very, very sick. Chocolate Raspberry Mini-cupcakes

Sometimes the best ideas come from requests from friends. I have my preferences or get stuck in my ruts and it takes a little push for me to try something new. Chocolate Wafers

This week's post is perhaps a touch boring. Chocolate wafers. You could absolutely eat them by themselves, but mostly I think of these as an ingredient for something else. Usually that something else is pretty amazing, in fact, I can't think of anything that I wouldn't want to make this afternoon. Yet, taken by themselves, they might seem like a bit of a chore. I have to admit, I used to buy my wafers. But, it has gotten harder and harder to find them in the store and mo...

Mama's Moon Pies (Lactation cookies)

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mothers, Grandmothers, Caretakers out there. I thought today was the perfect day to leave you with a recipe for lactation sandwich cookies, or as my friend likes to call them: Mama's Milk Moon pies. Being a Mom is hard work, especially for a new Mom. (My kids can at least say thank you or I love you with a sloppy hug. That's them in all their face painted glory.) These cookies are for the new Mom, although you definitely don't have to be lactatin...
